Some time ago, when I thought of a language class, I could visualize a room with desks, a board, and a teacher. And I could see myself as a student, among a group of students. We would open our text books: on any page, page 56 for example. Task: listen and practice. We would listen to a dialogue and follow in the book. And about practicing out loud...There was never much time for that. So we would go on with our grammar exercises, a much more organized and quiet task. The outcome? by the end of the year, we definitely knew our grammar and vocabulary, but were unable to communicate orally in the language we were studying. But things have changed now, as we can profit from e-learning. E-learning is a type of education where the medium is the computer. And live online education is a computer-based type of education where teacher and student meet for a lesson through the Internet.
